On April 29, 2016, two former individuals who worked as Land Managers for Turner Oil and Gas Properties filed a lawsuit against Turner claiming that they were improperly classified as independent contractors. Our position is that the Landmans working for Turner in Ohio are actually employees, and that therefore they should have received overtime pay for all hours worked in excess of 40. The lawsuit seeks back overtime, liquidated damages in an amount equal to back overtime, and attorney fees. To view a copy of the Amended Complaint filed in this case, click on the link below:
On January 13, 2017, the Court issued an order giving us the ability to notify other Landmans who worked for Turner in the states of Ohio and Kentucky from of their right to join this lawsuit suit. A copy of that opinion and the authorized notice to the class can be found here:
If you worked for Turner as a Landman in Ohio or Kentucky between April 26, 2013 and the present and worked more than 40 hours in a week on one or more occasions, you have the right to opt in to this suit. You can do so filling out and returning the opt-in form in the notice that was sent via mail on January 17, 2017. You can also do so by downloading, filling out, and signing the form below and getting it to us by Tuesday, April 18, 2017.
